About My Work

(missing: photo, land art, water)

Tissue

Tissue as an object entered my works trough my life as a woman. In my monthly regular, tissues showed me what I have been looking for. Sensitive to water, color, easy to torn, difficult to control and ”pure to reply”. Every tiny thing would reflect on them. I started to hear the sounds of colors and tissues also became a base for my works. It was like an “Echo” living trough this experience with more than 500 works on tissues and countless waste ... totally different from what I have ever done before ... a pure mirror, exactly what I was looking for during a long time (subconsciously).

Book

Book, a silent teacher. I was fascinated by listening to the story of book itself separate from what was inside a particular book. I wanted to make the language of the book universal by transforming the whole book into a visual object and turn book into an unspoken language. My experience in tissues and using pages as a mirror continued in my first book but the concept of story-telling became stronger and stronger while I was working on book. My second work sample is the result of this challenge. In that particular book I have told many of my stories with materials that all have their own history and connection to both me and the stories. In some pages I used even Pollen which I collected from pine trees and while collecting the pollen slowly and consciously, I re-discovered my deep connection and understanding for nature and true happiness inside myself.

Impermanence

The concept of "Impermanence" is my major motivation for doing land art. "Impermanence" was present in my works before, in terms of material, and in terms of my whole approach, but before my experience with land art I would have not touched it in that way. After choosing the place of my work, I collected my material from nearby. I look carefully to the shapes and colors that nature created there and then the idea will come. I normally prefer to not have any plan. If I just walk openly trough nature I get a better answer rather than having a plan in advance. My inspiration, the non-stop moving, fading, and strenghtening of the shadow brought me to the idea of fixing the shadow of the tree in a particular time and make it touchable. I had a feeling that the tree and myself are both kind of shadows in principle and we are moving and changing all the time without stopping for a moment. I thought may be that is why we will not meet each other truly ever!

Loose Pages

I have collected my material from my trips to mountains and nature. I made natural colors from roots, flowers and nut skin. For ca. 70 natural works on loose pages I have used second-hand paper and then I used sand-paper to remove the letters from it, most of them done based on poems, some children stories and some short stories. I tried to use as little material as possible.
Meanwhile not only my appreciation towards nature increased, but also towards people whom I have shared with. I tried to express my great feelings of being alive by removing word by word from paper, by meditating about the connection of the blank paper with its own nature, and by patiently preparing and re-arranging natural pieces on the paper. In the process, I was truly happy for people's appreciation for nature, especially if I could share the experience of nature trips and I was truly sad if my dearest would not come to nature with me and share to the full.

Music Instruments

For a long time, the only music that I could listen to was Erik Satie and Alina (Arvo Part) and silence,by time sience became more and more meaningful. But still, my interest for music and my playful character after a couple of experiments brought a fruit and I made my first instrument, it can be play easily and playfully by everyone, it does make a kind of sound that reminds us about nature and frogs, ducks, insect wings, and sadly I cannot share the sound of them by writing only.
